What We Released Q2

More visibility, stronger signals

Payments generate more data than most teams ever see. This quarter, we brought more of it to the surface - cost breakdowns that go line by line, failure signals that fire the moment something goes wrong, and more tools across the stack to help you act on what you find.

Costs Overview

Every payment cost, visible from day one

Most PSP costs stay hidden until you go looking for them. Costs Overview changes that - surfacing PSP-reported charges within Reconciliation, broken down by scheme, processing, FX, and more. Your finance team gets the numbers they need from day one, without the manual work to get there.

What used to take days of chasing now takes seconds to find.

Companion

Pick up where you left off

Every conversation with Companion is saved with an auto-generated title, so nothing gets lost between sessions and you can easily find previous conversations.

Authorization code

Authorization codes, built into every transaction

Every approved payment now includes the authorization code returned by the issuer. Match it against chargeback alerts, or search any payment by auth code directly in Primer. No portal-hopping or manual lookups.

Failed payment operations

Know the moment a payment operation fails

Primer now fires a webhook the moment a capture, refund, cancellation, or auth adjustment fails - even when the payment status doesn't change. Merchants can now proactively retry the operation or alert the customer right away.

Card type filtering

Filter out the friction

Card restrictions made simpler. Merchants can now filter eligible card types directly within Apple Pay and Google Pay, so customers only see supported cards. Whether it's debit, or credit, the right cards are surfaced upfront - preventing unnecessary authorization declines and dead-end moments at checkout, and creating a smoother user experience.

Reconciliation

Braintree just joined the picture

Braintree is the latest PSP live in Reconciliation, bringing its transaction data into the same unified view as the rest of your payments stack. No more siloed data. No more manual exports. Just everything, in one place.
