The payments ecosystem is vast, fragmented, and constantly evolving. But for merchants and partners alike, that complexity comes at a cost: slower integrations, duplicated effort, complex maintenance, and limited visibility.
Primer for Partners changes that.
We’re building the connectivity layer for the global payments ecosystem: an open platform where any provider can build, manage, and scale their own integrations directly, without writing code, without needing to use SDKs, and without needing to build new APIs.
That means you can make your existing service instantly available to every merchant using Primer, manage and update your integration whenever you need to, and see exactly how it’s performing.
In short, you stay in control of how your integration works, how it evolves, and how it reaches merchants around the world.
This isn’t a partner program. It’s a payments infrastructure that’s built to enable partners to deliver faster for their merchants and scale without limits.
Here’s how we see partners benefiting.
Learn more about our vision for Primer for Partners.
1. Build and own your integration with clicks, not code
Until now, Primer built and maintained partner integrations internally. That meant new or updated connections were tied to our roadmap and engineering capacity.
With Primer for Partners, that changes.
We’ve built a no-code integration builder that lets any partner, from PSPs and acquirers to fraud and risk platforms, build and manage their own integration on Primer with minimal effort.
Using your existing public API, you can recreate your payment or data flows within Primer’s interface. Configure requests, map data fields, and define logic visually, ensuring every interaction aligns precisely with your API specification.
2. Deliver new capabilities to merchants the moment they’re ready
Historically, partners couldn’t deliver new capabilities to merchants directly because Primer owned the integration and every update, from a new feature to an API version change, had to be built and deployed by our team. That created delays and made it difficult for partners to move in step with their own product roadmap.
Primer for Partners eliminates that bottleneck.
You can update, test, and publish changes to your integration, from feature enhancements to API version migrations, entirely on your own timeline.
Primer automatically runs both manual and automated tests to simulate real-world scenarios (like authorizations, captures, and refunds), ensuring every change behaves as expected before deployment.
And once approved, updates are instantly available to all merchants using your integration.
3. Reach more merchants through Primer’s Marketplace
More than 100 payment services are already available on Primer. Now, you can join them, and make your services instantly accessible to our global and continuously growing merchant base.
Once your integration is approved, it appears in Primer’s Marketplace, where merchants can discover and activate it directly. After a merchant’s account is provisioned with your service, they can connect it seamlessly with no additional setup, integration work, or go-to-market overhead.
4. Improve performance and support with full visibility over your performance
Primer isn’t a black box for merchants, and we’re not one for partners either.
Through our new partner dashboard, you’ll gain deep visibility into integration performance, usage, and outcomes in real time. Your teams can drill into individual requests, view the exact payloads exchanged between systems, and diagnose issues quickly with full request-response logging.
You’ll also see deeper analytics across authorization rates, error distribution, latency, and merchant activity, helping you pinpoint opportunities to improve performance and reliability.
And soon, AI-powered diagnostics will surface anomalies and trends automatically, helping you detect performance degradation or latency spikes before they affect merchant outcomes.
The result is faster issue resolution, stronger performance, and a smoother experience for every merchant using your service.
5. Turn ecosystem insight into better merchant outcomes
When merchants work with multiple providers, understanding how your service performs in context is nearly impossible.
Primer sits uniquely at the center of those relationships, which means we can surface anonymized, aggregated performance insights across the network.
Partners can benchmark recovery rates, authorization performance, and transaction outcomes relative to the broader ecosystem. So if a declined transaction is later recovered elsewhere, you’ll gain a visibility signal for optimization.
This is data that was previously invisible, and that has now become actionable. It’s the first time partners can truly see themselves in the ecosystem mirror, and use that intelligence to improve outcomes for everyone.
