A processor handles payment transactions between your business and the relevant financial institutions. It submits payments for authorization and helps manage the payment lifecycle, including refunds and cancellations. Primer connects you to supported processors through the Primer Dashboard. Once connected, you can use Workflows to route payments based on your business requirements. Some providers, such as PayPal and Klarna, act as both a payment method and a processor. To learn more, see What is a processor? and Payment methods. Each processor guide explains its supported payment methods and capabilities, how to connect and test the integration in Primer, and any steps required to go live.

Get started

  1. Make sure you have an account with the processor and the credentials needed to connect it.
  2. Set up the connection in the Primer Dashboard.
  3. Configure payment routing in Workflows.
