Primer for Partners expands what’s possible, giving Partners instant access to a growing, best-in-class ecosystem without the overhead. It is industry-first. Partners can take control of their own integration in Primer using a no-code editor, so they can build and maintain the connection in clicks, not code. We do this not by providing a reverse API or an SDK, but by providing an editor that lets partners configure how their existing API maps to Primer capabilities. Partners do not need to build anything new. They can take ownership of their integration immediately, without needing additional engineering resources.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of integrations can a partner build today? Today, Partners can build for payment processing for customer-initiated or merchant-initiated payments with Cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Network Tokens, and Primer 3DS MPI. The current limitation is that only JSON APIs are supported and we qualify partners that can be onboarded in a technical scoping. What kind of integrations will be available to build next? We are currently working on adding support for APIs using url form-encoded requests, as well as XML based APIs. Soon Partners will also be able to build for Redirect APMs - meaning existing processors could extend their integration with ease to support additional APMs not available on Primer today, or wallet providers can add their own wallet as long as it works by redirecting the users to their interface. Eventually, Primer for Partners will be available for any Primer capability that is powered by third parties, including fraud checks or reconciliation. Where does the integration live? Partners get access to their own Primer Dashboard to build, test, and manage their integration on Primer, which also includes detailed logs every time their integration is used. How long does it take for a partner to build their integration? When a partner gets access to our integration builder it means we have validated that there is no technical blocker for them building their integration. However much time the partner then invests is up to them. Some integrations can even be built in hours, but most can be done in days, not weeks. Can a partner publish their own integration or integration update? Primer will have a manual testing and review process for every update for quality control and to make sure the capabilities mapped work as expected and don’t break from one update to another. Can any partner sign up? Primer is issuing accounts only after an initial technical validation to ensure there is no blocker.
